The Mumbai Metropolitan Region concentrates an unusual mix of industry into a small area: chemicals and pharmaceuticals at Taloja and Ambernath, engineering and electronics across the Thane-Belapur belt and TTC Navi Mumbai, one of India's largest warehousing clusters at Bhiwandi, and printing, packaging and food processing throughout. Air Care System & Solution India Pvt. Ltd. supplies HVLS fans, indirect-direct evaporative cooling, factory fabricated ducting and industrial exhaust systems across the region, supported from our Pune manufacturing facility.
Mumbai's climate is the constraint that shapes every design here. Humidity stays high for most of the year and rises further through a long monsoon, which leaves very little wet-bulb depression for direct evaporation to exploit. We do not recommend plain direct evaporative coolers as a primary system for MMR plants. The systems that perform are HVLS fans for large-volume air movement, indirect-direct and adiabatic cooling that add no moisture, and well-designed exhaust that removes heat and process fumes at source before they load the building.
| Peak summer dry-bulb | 35-38°C (April-May) |
| Design wet-bulb | approx. 28-29°C |
| Year-round relative humidity | 70-85%, higher in monsoon |
| Recommended primary system | HVLS air movement + IDEC / adiabatic, with source extraction |
In a saturated coastal atmosphere the design lever is air movement and heat removal, not evaporative temperature drop. HVLS fans running across large spans improve perceived comfort without adding moisture. Indirect-direct systems cool the supply air through a heat exchanger so no water vapour enters the space. And because MMR buildings are frequently tight, congested and multi-storey, extraction routing and discharge location need real planning - a badly placed discharge in Taloja or Ambernath simply returns fumes to a neighbour's inlet.
Industrial air coolers are supplied into MMR for spot cooling at specific workstations and enclosed areas. We do not present them as a whole-building solution here, because Mumbai's sustained humidity limits what direct evaporative equipment can deliver. Indirect-direct evaporative and Oxycom adiabatic systems are the correct cooling specification for Mumbai, cooling supply air through a heat exchanger without adding moisture to a space that is already close to saturation, with chiller pre-cooling available where existing plant needs capacity recovered. HVLS fans are the highest-value product for the Mumbai region, particularly across the Bhiwandi warehousing cluster. They destratify the full building height, improve floor-level comfort and reduce the stagnant saturated pockets that cause condensation damage on stored goods. We manufacture factory fabricated ducting in GI, stainless steel and aluminium for the pharmaceutical, chemical and food processing plants of Taloja, Ambernath and the Thane-Belapur belt, with insulated PUF sandwich panels and modular enclosures for controlled areas. In congested MIDC estates the discharge point matters as much as the fan. We design fume extraction and flue gas exhaust systems complete with capture at source, corrosion-appropriate duct material, make-up air and a discharge location chosen so contaminants are not returned to the site or a neighbour.
