Saudi Arabia divides into two quite different design climates and the equipment specification should follow that division. The interior - Riyadh, Qassim, Sudair, Hail - is extremely hot and extremely dry, which makes it one of the strongest cases anywhere in the world for direct evaporative cooling: very large temperature drops at a small fraction of the electrical load a comparable refrigerant system would draw. The Gulf and Red Sea coasts at Jubail, Dammam and Jeddah carry high humidity alongside high temperature, where indirect-direct and adiabatic systems plus HVLS air movement are the correct answer instead.

Equipment for Saudi Arabia has to be specified for a sustained 50°C ambient rather than for a peak that lasts an hour, which affects motor derating, bearing selection, control gear rating and pad material life. We also design for water conditions, since the water available at many industrial sites is hard or partly desalinated and will scale evaporative media rapidly without treatment and a correctly set bleed rate. These are specified at order stage, not left to site.
Industrial air coolers and direct evaporative units perform exceptionally in Saudi Arabia's interior. At Riyadh, Sudair and Qassim conditions, the wet-bulb depression is very wide and the achievable drop correspondingly large, on a fan-and-pump electrical load rather than a compressor load. Indirect-direct evaporative and Oxycom adiabatic systems are specified for coastal projects at Jubail, Dammam, Jeddah and Yanbu, where humidity rules out direct evaporation as a primary system. Oxycom pre-cooling for air-cooled chillers is widely applicable in a market where ambient temperature routinely exceeds chiller design conditions. HVLS fans suit Saudi Arabia's very large warehouses, distribution centres, workshops and covered public spaces including prayer halls, moving substantial air volumes at low power. Factory fabricated hollow profile, rectangular, round, oval and spiral ducting is manufactured in GI, stainless steel and aluminium and export-packed for shipment to Saudi ports, together with insulated PUF sandwich panels and modular enclosures. Petrochemical, cement and heavy industrial facilities at Jubail, Yanbu and Jazan need high-temperature exhaust and flue gas systems built for continuous duty.
