Surat runs one of the densest concentrations of textile weaving, dyeing and processing capacity in India, spread across Sachin GIDC, Pandesara, Udhna, Katargam and the Palsana-Kim corridor, with heavy process industry at Hazira on the coast. Weaving sheds and dyeing houses here carry two problems at once: high sensible heat from machinery and steam, and air that is already close to saturation for much of the year. Air Care System & Solution India Pvt. Ltd. supplies industrial cooling, air circulation, ducting and exhaust systems built for exactly that combination.
We are direct with Surat customers about one thing in particular. A plain direct evaporative cooler is not the right primary answer here. Surat's coastal humidity narrows the wet-bulb depression that direct evaporation depends on, so the temperature drop a supplier promises on a dry-climate datasheet will not be achieved on a July afternoon in Pandesara. Indirect-direct evaporative cooling, Oxycom adiabatic systems and high-volume air movement from HVLS fans are what actually work in this climate, and that is what we specify.
| Peak summer dry-bulb | 38-40°C |
| Design wet-bulb | approx. 28-29°C |
| Monsoon relative humidity | 70-85% |
| Recommended primary system | IDEC / adiabatic + HVLS air movement |
Because the wet-bulb depression in Surat is narrow for much of the year, we base designs on air changes and effective air velocity at working level rather than on a headline temperature drop. Indirect-direct systems pre-cool through a heat exchanger without adding moisture, and HVLS fans raise the perceived comfort level by moving large volumes of air slowly across the shed. For dyeing, printing and drying areas we pair this with dedicated exhaust so heat and moisture are removed at source instead of being recirculated.
Industrial air coolers are supplied for Surat's manned workstations and smaller enclosed areas where localised cooling makes sense. We are clear about their limits in this climate and position them as spot cooling within a wider ventilation strategy rather than as a whole-building solution. Indirect-direct evaporative and Oxycom adiabatic systems are our primary cooling recommendation for Surat. Because the first stage cools through a heat exchanger without adding moisture, these systems continue to perform in the humid conditions that defeat a plain direct cooler - which matters in Pandesara and Sachin through most of the working year. HVLS fans do the heaviest lifting in Surat's weaving and processing sheds. Slow movement of very large air volumes across long-span looms floors raises operator comfort measurably in humid conditions, reduces settled lint and replaces large banks of small fans at a fraction of the connected load. Factory fabricated ducting in GI, stainless steel and aluminium is supplied for Surat's process and utility buildings. For dyeing, printing and Hazira process areas we select material and coating specifically against a humid, chemically loaded atmosphere, because a duct that corrodes through in two seasons is no saving. Heat and moisture from stenters, jet dyeing machines, curing lines and drying chambers has to be captured where it is produced. We design the hood, duct route, fan and discharge as one system, along with make-up air, so extraction performs to design instead of to fan rating.
